Key responsibilities
Taking products (SoC, platform, system) from concept phase to development and supporting processes for the safety qualification of hardware and software components:
- Derive safety concept for autonomous driving functionality.
- Collect platform and system-level requirements from OEMs and distribute these to internal sub-teams.
- Coach R&D teams and management on ISO 26262 compliant development and refinement processes.
- Perform hazard analyses and risk assessments for platform and SoC-specific scenarios.
- Support the system design with specifications derived from functional safety requirements and with decomposition of requirements for hardware and software subcomponents to achieve integrity.
- Lead the failure analysis (e.g., by fault injection) and test during hardware and software design to check against safety requirements (verification of requirements).
- Guide the certification process for the platform and/or individual components (SEooC) according to ASIL B to D levels in the ISO 26262 standard with official certification authorities.
Requirements and Qualifications
- 8+ years of relevant experience in the architecture definition, verification, analysis (e.g., FMEDA, SPFM/LFM and PMHF-based methods), design and certification of safety elements and systems for Autonomous Driving platforms and ADAS for functional safety based on ISO 26262.
- Excellent understanding of automotive ECU, SoC and platform architectures and their development, as well as design challenges for functional safety, such as fail-safe and fail-operational mechanisms.
- Common understanding of related best-known design methods and standards in the industry, such as AUTOSAR, SOTIF, IEC 61508, automotive SPICE
- Be familiar with functional safety verification tools, such as Synopsys Z01X, for systematic fault modeling, fault injection, test coverage and testability analysis
- Experienced with capturing requirements in tools like IBM Rational DOORS or Sparx Enterprise Architect
