IT Support Engineer (Linux) 

We are recruiting for a IT Support Engineer with extensive experience in second / third line support to join my client onsite in Cambridge on an initial 6 month contract 

My client is a leading semiconductor conductor, and as a IT Support Engineer, you will be responsible for verifying, investigating and identifying users’ issues, track and manage IT assets as they are transferred to users, build and install multiple Linux systems and perform daily operations in Linux environments, such as account creations.

Essential skills:

• Be familiar with Linux environments, such as RHEL5~7 and Ubuntu12~16
• Have more than 4 years’ experience for support Linux environments
• Understand basic network services, such as DHCP, DNS, NIS

Desired skills:

• Good communication skills
• Basic understanding for supporting Windows environments
• Experience for supporting environments which are running EDA tools, such as Cadence and Synopsis.
• Experience for supporting LSF queuing system
