Optical System Engineer – PhD / OWC / FSO / Laser 

The company are a global electronics and telecommunications provider.

This exciting, world leading, research centre is looking for an Optical System Engineer to join their research in the area of Free Space Optics (FSO) and Optical Wireless Communication (OWC).

Key responsibilities for a Optical System Engineer :

• Research on OWC systems for 5G/6G networks and
• Find cost efficient solutions for current and future wireless networks
• Evaluate the performance of new ideas and architectures
• Collaborate with leading Universities

Key skills for a Optical System Engineer:

• PhD in either Optical/Laser Engineering, Communication Engineering or similar field.
• Experience with Product Development.
• Strong Good understanding of optical and laser systems and OWC
• Prior research / industry experience in Optical Communication Standards, Free Space Optical Channels, Laser Devices, Optics Design, Optical MIMO, Orbital Angular Momentum and Optical OFDM
• Programming Languages (Matlab, Python, etc.)
