Planning and Control Engineer – Autonomous Driving

I have a great opportunity to join a leading Tier 1 Automotive company based in Palo Alto or Michigan. The Planning and Control Engineer will be researching and developing motion control algorithms and software for autonomous vehicles. 


Key Responsibilities:


  • Working on core planning and control algorithms such as routing, behaviour planning, trajectory planning and feedback controllers
  • Developing state-of-the-art algorithms for planning under uncertainty 
  • Developing behavioural reasoning frameworks to support navigation in complex traffic scenarios


Experienced Required;

  • Master’s or Ph.D. in computer science, engineering, or related field
  • Experience in research or development in a technology area related to Autonomous Vehicles 
  • Experience writing high quality code in C++
  • Ability to build applications for robot path planning using a broad range of tools such as numerical optimization, feedback control, system modeling, etc
  • Experience with robot path planning techniques like energy functions, behaviour trees, jerk minimization, stochastic optimization (Desirable)
  • Experience with GPU programming in CUDA or OpenCL (Desirable)
