Research Engineer – 6G Wireless AI/ML Systems – East Coast Region, United States

My client is a leading Telecommunications company that are looking for a 6G Wireless AI/ML Research Engineer to join the team based in their offices on the East Coast (they have offices in NYC and Pennsylvania). This person will be responsible for activities such as ML techniques, communication stacks, signal processing, PHY layers, simulation of wireless systems and more.

As a 6G Wireless AI/ML Research Engineer you will:

Responsibilities

• Carry out cutting-edge research in AI/ML for Wireless communications, with focus on the PHY and MAC layers of Beyond 5G and 6G cellular systems
• Identify and investigate wireless use-cases and benefits for machine-learning enabled wireless communications
• Develop testbeds to demonstrate selected machine-learning enabled Beyond 5G and 6G wireless capabilities in areas such as waveform design, massive MIMO, and NOMA
• Engage with O-RAN Alliance and Telecom Infrastructure Project (TIP) working groups for AI/ML integration in RAN

Qualifications

• 10+ years of research engineer experience with a relevant degree qualification (ideally a Ph.D.)
• Experience in ML, wireless communications (PHY/MAC), information theory and signal processing
• Proven strong knowledge of simulating wireless communications systems
• Understanding of publication history in the areas of machine learning and/or wireless communications
• Experience in real-world data collection and Python / MATLAB / C/C++ and ML frameworks
