Senior ASIC Design Engineer

Senior ASIC Design Engineer  –  Bristol, UK

Our client is looking for a energetic and versatile engineer with a proven track record in implementation of complex ICs.

The environment at our client is very much a small-team startup so we are looking for people who are interested in learning how companies work and willing to try and put their hands on various elements of the design cycle. 

This role is focused on design but if you would like to chance to see other aspects then this role is for you. 

Responsibilities:

o   Close partnership with and interface to the Arch and System S/W teams, contributing to the top-level IC functional specification to company sign-off

o   Block and system specification through to timing-clean Verilog RTL

o   Interface to the Physical Implementation team in support of closing timing and block/chip finishing

o   Support of PE and hardware bring-up teams with debug, once the chip is back from 1st manufacture

Required Skills

o   Processor design and architectural design, and Verilog RTL implementation

o   Memory / DMA subsystem design and implementation

o   Capability of working with external suppliers such as IP and verification contractors

o   ASIC Hardware Design skills – RTL (VHDL / Verilog)

o   Experience in hardware synthesis tools (Synopsys / Cadence)

o   Experience with simulation tools e.g. NC-SIM / Modelsim / Questa / VCS

o   Good understanding and experience of tool-flow support using Python, Perl, TCL

o   Design-for-test and some level of Product Engineering exposure.
