Senior Engineer – Mapping Localization

The Senior Engineer-Mapping/Localization researches and develops localization algorithms for autonomous vehicles. 

The main focus is developing Localization & Mapping technology including but not limited to: 

Vision based localization & mapping, Lidar based localization & mapping, Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM), Iterative Closest Point (ICP), integration of vision/lidar based localization with GNSS and IMU through Kalman filter/Particle filters. 

Major Responsibilities

• Build and tune deep learning models for perception and segmentation
• Extract structural and semantic information from imagery and Lidar for the purpose of map making
• Scale and deploy AV mapping solutions for integration with self-driving systems
• Utilize and implement Image and Lidar based localization

Knowledge and Education

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience, including but not limited to: Electrical, Robotics, and Aerospace
• Preferred PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field – computer vision and deep learning
• 3-5 years of work experience
• Deep experience working on multiple aspects of machine learning and computer vision technology such as Perception, objection recognition, localization, and deep learning
• Extensive programming experience in C++ and Python
• Strong background in object oriented design, prioritizing testability, and reusability
