About the Team

Our Software Methodology group is on a mission to support software development teams within the company to improve their code quality and enable them to collaborate globally. This includes not only the necessary tooling around task & bug tracking, source code management, code scanning, CI/CD, and OSS compliance but also methodology to improve software process quality.

The Role:

  • Manage the team of business analysts, SW methodology engineers and SW Methodology process and audit colleagues in our Stuttgart site and multiple remote locations
  • Support and define scalable SW development processes to be used company wide
  • Understand the existing tool landscape and be able to develop new applications based on it.
  • Provide comprehensive architecture to support robust, scalable and maintainable systems at an enterprise scale
  • Support tool landscape assessment after acquisitions and come up with a proposed migration plan
  • Support the engineering / IT roadmap process and provide regular status updates on projects. Highlight risks in time
  • Support our internal customers using our existing systems in case of problems
  • Perform regular on-site visits of the engineering / SW developer locations
  • Stay within the approved budget and seek for opportunities for cost savings
  • Ensure high availability of the SW Methodology tool landscape (>=99.95% uptime per year, excluding scheduled downtime)
  • Project / task management and implementation performance based on agreed time scheduled with the business
  • Manage external labor in regards of budget and deliverables as required to deliver projects according to the project plan.
  • Integrate into the existing team and be able to work together on tasks. Supervise and mentor more junior staff
  • Ability and willingness to learn new skills over time which are required for the job. This requires regular conference and training visits

What We Are Looking For:

  • Bachelor or Master degree with relevant background (Computer, IT, Science,…)
  • At least 10 years of professional experience, preferred in an architect role for software developer tools
  • Deep understanding of up-to-date SW developer methodologies and tooling
  • Expertise in Jira, Jenkins and BitBucket is desirable
  • Line management experience is desirable
  • Project management skills
  • Good People skills and interaction with stakeholders at all levels are highly desirable
  • Advanced experience in Windows and Linux operating systems
  • Advanced knowledge of version control systems like SVN / GIT
  • Ability to present results / architecture
