Position Overview

We are looking for an innovative and experienced Team Leader to manage a team of AI researchers focused on developing and refining advanced AI models, with an emphasis on large language models (LLMs). This role involves guiding the team’s research efforts, overseeing project execution, and ensuring alignment with broader organizational AI strategies. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in artificial intelligence and machine learning, particularly in LLMs, and a proven ability to drive research that makes a significant impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Leadership and Team Management: Provide direction, mentorship, and support to a group of 10-15 AI researchers working on projects related to LLMs, model optimization, and innovative AI solutions.
• Strategic Research Planning: Develop and execute a research roadmap, ensuring that projects are in line with organizational objectives and future-focused product goals.
• Research Oversight: Supervise the design, training, and improvement of LLMs, alongside exploring areas such as AI agents, world modeling, and physics-based AI. Maintain high research standards by promoting quality work, publications, and contributions to open-source initiatives.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Serve as the key point of contact between the research team and senior leadership, ensuring clear communication and effective collaboration across departments.
• Talent Development: Foster an environment that encourages innovation and growth, mentoring team members to help them reach their full potential and achieve groundbreaking results.
  • Industry Thought Leadership: Stay informed about advancements in AI/ML research and represent the organization at key AI conferences, contributing to establishing the company’s presence in the AI community.

Required Qualifications

• A minimum of 4 years of experience in AI/ML research, particularly in language models, multimodal models, AI agents, or similar fields. Recognized within academic or industry circles for substantial contributions to the field.
• Strong understanding of the latest developments in LLM research.
• Proven track record of impactful research, with one or more highly cited works.
• Ability to bridge the gap between theoretical research and practical applications, with some handson engineering experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience in an industry setting, focusing on the training and optimization of LLMs.
• Recent academic involvement with a notable influence (e.g., H-Index > 20).
• Experience serving in key roles at prominent AI/ML conferences.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of translating complex technical insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
