Facility Engineer
Position: Facility Engineer
Location: Uppsala, Sweden
Work Arrangement: 100% Onsite
Employment Type: Full-time
Overview
The Facility Engineer will be responsible for ensuring reliable operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of facility and utility systems including HVAC, cooling and heating systems, water systems, vacuum systems, gas distribution, and calibration processes. The role focuses on maintaining high standards of quality, safety, technical performance, and cost-efficiency across all utilities and facility maintenance activities.

Main Responsibilities
-
Lead and participate in technical projects and improvement initiatives.

Support ongoing development and optimization of facility and utility systems.

Coordinate and supervise contractors, consultants, and external service providers.

Manage cost control and maintain high-quality standards in all maintenance operations.

Participate in QMS activities, including non-conformances, CAPA, and change requests.
-
Conduct incident investigations and maintain proper documentation.
-
Ensure all safety procedures, permits, and routines are followed.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, drawings, and system records.
-
Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance activities, ensuring appropriate documentation.

Manage spare parts inventory and ensure availability for critical systems.
-
Support AutoCAD updates, including P&IDs and technical drawings.

Assist with validation activities related to facility and utility systems.
Qualifications
Education
-
Technical degree in facility engineering, utilities, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or another relevant discipline.
Experience
-
Minimum 3 years in facility or utility engineering, preferably within life sciences, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, or highly regulated environments.

Experience working with computerized systems and control systems.
-
Strong problem-solving ability with a focus on continuous improvement.
-
Capable of working independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
-
Comfortable handling both hands-on operational tasks and administrative responsibilities.
-
Demonstrated ability to lead projects, manage changes, and drive improvements.
Language Skills
-
Excellent Swedish and English, both written and verbal.
