Foundry Technology Engineer
Foundry Technology Engineer

Key Responsibilities
- Serve as an authority in silicon manufacturing
- Promote Design for Manufacture (DFM) principles across engineering teams
- Manage the interface between the organisation and external foundry partners throughout product realisation, ensuring qualification, early-volume success, and sustaining engineering
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including product design, engineering, and marketing—to ensure silicon technology requirements are fully supported by external manufacturing partners
- Review foundry technology offerings and internal product requirements, driving alignment with the company’s technology roadmap
- Drive accountability, identify risks, solve problems, remove roadblocks, and ensure new-product requirements meet quality standards and NPI timelines/budgets
- Provide silicon leadership in areas such as time-to-market, yield, quality, and cost optimisation
- Participate in selecting silicon foundry partners and fabrication facilities
- Improve production performance through regular metrics reviews, business reviews, and supplier audits
- Prepare technical analyses and data-driven reports for internal teams and customers
- Ensure suppliers understand and adhere to production requirements
- Maintain all required documentation and records
Skills
- Strong leadership and communication skills for working with cross-functional silicon development teams
- Highly skilled in analytical and technical evaluation using semiconductor-industry data-analysis tools (e.g., JMP) and Six Sigma methodologies
- Ability to work to tight and variable timescales
- Strong workload-planning and task-management skills (for self and others)
- Willingness to travel to company sites, suppliers, and customers as required
- Excellent diagnostic, analytical, and numerical abilities
- Innovative, creative, and capable of lateral-thinking problem solving
- Basic software-scripting skills (advantageous)
Experience
- 5+ years of experience in the semiconductor industry, with strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, procedures, facilities, and equipment
- Experience working in a fabless semiconductor environment with foundry partners (preferred)
- Familiarity with commercially driven organisations within product-development and operations settings
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, and influencing skills, with confidence interacting with customers, suppliers, and senior management
- Experience in advanced process nodes (e.g., N16 to N3 CMOS / FinFET) preferred
- Background in process technology (advantageous)
- Experience with MPW and tape-out processes (advantageous)
- Experience analysing PCM / e-test / WAT parameters
Education
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent academic, vocational, or industry experience
