Description

We are looking for an experienced Embedded Firmware Developer to work on FPGA-based SoC real-time systems within the High Power technology domain. The role combines FPGA design, embedded software development, and hardware/software co-design, contributing to innovative products such as broadcast systems, broadband amplifiers, HF transmitters, and plasma generation solutions.

Non-Negotiable Requirements (Must Have)

Completed degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a comparable field

Several years of professional experience in FPGA development using VHDL or Verilog

Solid understanding of SoC design flows and FPGA-based system architectures

Experience maintaining and developing FPGA-based embedded real-time systems

Hands-on experience with embedded software development in modern C++

Experience developing embedded software in a Linux environment using Git

Ability to perform requirements analysis and develop solution concepts in interdisciplinary teams

Experience with hardware/software co-design, integration, and optimization

Ability to verify functionality and performance through simulation and hardware validation

Strong documentation skills for technical and project-related content

Independent, structured, and goal-oriented working style

Strong teamwork and communication skills

Business-fluent German and basic English language skills

Desirable Requirements (Nice to Have)

Experience with bare-metal embedded software development

Initial experience with C++ unit test frameworks and debugging tools

Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, Docker, or Robot Framework

Experience refactoring and modernizing legacy FPGA or firmware code

Interest in standardization and reuse of firmware and software components

Openness to using modern AI-supported development tools

Interest in sharing knowledge on new technologies, methods, and tools within the team
