Hardware Security Engineer
We are partnering with a rapidly growing, highly ambitious semiconductor company at the forefront of hardware innovation. They are seeking an experienced Hardware Security Engineer with strong expertise in digital design and physical attack resilience to join their engineering team.
In this role, you will take ownership of designing and implementing secure hardware architectures capable of withstanding advanced physical attacks. The ideal candidate brings deep knowledge of side-channel leakage, hands-on RTL development experience, and a genuine passion for building robust, attack-resistant silicon. Beyond technical excellence, this team values an exceptional mindset—someone driven to go the extra mile to strengthen and elevate a breakthrough product.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement high-performance cryptographic hardware accelerators (e.g. AES, ECC, RSA, SHA) using Verilog/SystemVerilog.
- Architect and integrate effective side-channel countermeasures directly within hardware logic.
- Identify, analyse, and mitigate vulnerabilities related to Fault Injection (FI) and Side-Channel Analysis (SCA).
- Perform thorough security evaluations, modelling and simulating real-world physical attack scenarios.
- Track emerging hardware security research, physical attack methodologies, and industry best practices, assessing their relevance to current and future products.
- Produce and maintain comprehensive documentation covering security architectures, countermeasures, and validation results.
- Provide regular project updates, clearly communicating progress, milestones, and potential risks.
Qualifications & Experience
- Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science, with a focus on hardware security.
- Strong expertise in digital design and RTL development (Verilog, SystemVerilog, or VHDL) for ASIC and/or FPGA platforms.
- In-depth understanding of cryptographic algorithms and their efficient, secure hardware implementations.
- Demonstrated experience designing and implementing side-channel and fault-injection countermeasures.
- Solid grounding in computer architecture, CMOS design, and power consumption modelling.
- Proficiency in scripting and analysis tools such as Python and MATLAB for automation and cryptographic evaluation.
