Researcher in System Security / OS Security
You will be joining an impressive security research team within a world-leading technology company at their lab Munich.
We are looking for passionate researchers at both junior and senior levels to advance innovation in system and operating system security. The role involves designing and developing next-generation security solutions that strengthen the protection of computing systems across hardware and software layers.
Responsibilities
- Conduct pioneering research in areas such as OS security, access control, and hardware-assisted protection for CPUs, GPUs, and specialized accelerators.
- Identify emerging research opportunities and transform innovative concepts into practical, product-ready technologies.
- Design, prototype, and optimize Proofs of Concept while contributing to long-term technical strategies.
- File patent applications and publish findings in leading international security conferences and journals.
Qualifications
- PhD in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in system or OS security research.
- Strong expertise in one or more domains: access control, kernel security, code analysis, or cryptography.
- In-depth understanding of OS internals and security frameworks (e.g., Linux, macOS, Android, iOS, or HarmonyOS).
- Alternatively, a background in computer architecture and security aspects such as memory protection, secure RDMA, or microarchitectural vulnerabilities.
- Proficiency in C/C++; experience with Rust is an advantage.
- Proactive mindset with strong teamwork, analytical, and independent problem-solving skills.
