Security Tools Engineer
Security Tools Engineer
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable security software features for our Security Tools used across multiple product lines.
- Collaborate closely with internal engineering teams (hardware, firmware, OS, manufacturing, and security architecture) and with external customers to define and implement secure, reliable solutions.
- Architect and implement workflows supporting firmware signing, firmware encryption, device provisioning, debug enablement/disablement, and secure lifecycle management.
- Ensure implementations align with our security requirements, industry standards, and best practices.
- Develop comprehensive unit tests and automated test frameworks to validate correctness, robustness, and long?term maintainability.
- Participate in and perform thorough code reviews to maintain high software quality and security standards.
- Provide technical support and guidance for internal and external users of Security Tools.
- Authoring and reviewing customer-facing user guides describing Security Tools functionality.
- Contribute to the long?term technical vision and roadmap for our Security Tools ecosystem.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
OR
Master’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Software Engineering or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
• 2+ years of academic or work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 0-5 years of relevant professional experience in software development, security tooling, or related fields.
- Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines and test?driven development (TDD) methodologies.
- Strong Python programming skills, particularly for automation, testing, and developer tooling.
- Strong object?oriented programming (OOP) skills, with experience in high?level languages such as Python and Java.
- Experience designing and developing scalable, maintainable software systems.
- Working knowledge of cryptographic concepts and standards, such as:
- PKI and X.509
- AES, RSA, ECDSA
- ML?DSA and ML?KEM
- Ability to work effectively in a cross?functional, globally distributed environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex technical concepts.
- Familiarity with secure boot, trusted execution environments (TEE), or hardware?root?of?trust concepts.
- Experience supporting customer?facing tools or SDKs.
- Exposure to embedded systems, firmware development, or manufacturing flows
