Senior Automotive Exterior Designer

Main Responsibilities:

• Lead automotive exterior design projects, contributing to all phases from concept to production-ready solutions.
• Apply expertise in design processes, ensuring high-quality results from initial ideas to final designs.
• Bring creativity and attention to detail, refining solutions and exploring innovative concepts.
• Collaborate with external design teams to strengthen capabilities and engage in joint projects.
• Effectively communicate and present design concepts internally for clear understanding.
• Develop knowledge of the Chinese automotive market.
• Travel to China or other project locations several times a year to support projects, conduct benchmarking, and engage with the HQ design team.

Required Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Automotive Design.
• At least 8 years’ experience in design, within a top agency or in-house team.
• Proficiency in 2D/3D design, including sketching and rendering.
• Advanced Blender skills for 3D modelling and rendering.
• Proven experience following up on clay models, in both small and full-scale.
• Interest in AI tools to enhance design quality and efficiency.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating cross-sector design solutions.
• Experience leading small design teams or readiness to take on leadership tasks.
• Strong conceptual thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• A proactive, positive team player, capable of working independently.
• Fluent in written and spoken English; Chinese is a plus.
• Ability to work in a multicultural, international environment.
