Senior Design Engineer – Actuator / Gearbox

As a Senior Design Engineer, you won’t just be drawing parts; you will be the architectural lead for the “muscles” of the next generation of humanoids, cobots, and wearable robotics. The Role

In this high-impact position, you will take full ownership of the drivetrain lifecycle from initial architectural blueprints to series production.

• Lead Actuation Design: Architect and refine backdrivable transmission systems tailored for sensitive human-robot interaction.

• End-to-End Ownership: Drive the full development cycle: 3D CAD modeling, rapid prototyping, rigorous testing, and industrialization.

• Technical Mentorship: Act as a cornerstone of the engineering team, guiding junior designers and fostering a culture of technical excellence.

• Strategic Influence: Collaborate with leadership to shape the technology roadmap and influence the future of European robotics.

   

Essential Requirements

• Educational Background: Master’s or Industrial degree in Mechanical or Electromechanical Engineering.

• Industry Tenure: 5-15 years of experience in either gearbox design, actuator design or servomotor design.

• Technical Mastery: Expert-level 3D CAD (Inventor or similar). You possess a “first-principles” understanding of gears, bearings, housings, and sealing for complex environments.

• Manufacturing Intuition: Proven track record interfacing with manufacturers (CNC, EDM, Heat Treatments) and managing complex supplier/subcontractor relationships.

• The “Builder” Mindset: You thrive in a hands-on environment, enjoying the iterative process of building, breaking, and perfecting your designs.
