Senior Engineer – Grid-Tied Inverter Control & Power System

You will be joining an innovative power conversion lab within a world-leading technology company at their lab Nuremberg.

You will lead the development of advanced control strategies for grid-connected inverters supporting renewable energy integration.

Responsibilities

• Define requirements for power systems and inverter controls in collaboration with internal teams and external partners.
• Liaise with grid operators, utilities, and customers to track market developments and produce technical reports.
• Investigate emerging technologies and future trends in grid and inverter control.
• Work with standards bodies to influence grid codes and stay current with PV and energy-storage regulations.
• Generate innovative concepts and secure intellectual property.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineer

Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or similar discipline.
• Background in power generation, transmission, distribution, and inverter control.
• Strong knowledge of grid stability, power-flow management, grid-forming, and protection systems.
• Familiarity with global and national standards for solar PV and battery-storage systems.
• Proven record of R&D, patents, or technical publications.
• Creative, solution-oriented mindset with excellent English communication skills; other languages are an advantage.
