Staff Mechanical Motor Design Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Motor Design Engineer with 7–10 years of experience in electric motor development. The ideal candidate has deep technical expertise in stator, rotor, and sensor design, and is comfortable driving key engineering decisions around winding technologies, magnet materials, insulation systems, lamination methods, and electrical interconnections. You should have a strong track record of optimizing electromagnetic performance while balancing manufacturability and cost. Experience in fast-paced, cross-functional environments (e.g., high-growth EV companies) is a plus, as is a Master’s degree in a relevant field.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design stators, rotors, and motor components optimized for electric propulsion systems
• Lead engineering decisions for winding technologies, magnet materials, and manufacturing processes
• Develop detailed CAD models and perform stress analysis under operational loads
• Drive validation (DVP&R) and failure analysis (DFMEA) activities in collaboration with suppliers
• Build and test motor prototypes from concept through mass-production readiness

Key Qualifications:

• 7 – 10 years of experience in motor design, specifically with stators and rotors
• Expert knowledge of electric motor design, including electromagnetic theory, thermal management, and NVH
• Advanced CAD skills (CATIA preferred) and simulation experience (FEA, MATLAB, Python)
• Strong understanding of high-volume motor manufacturing processes (stamping, winding, welding, etc.)
• Solid mechanical engineering foundation in materials, dynamics, and GD&T
• Hands-on experience integrating, testing, and troubleshooting electric motors in EV drivetrain systems
