Staff Release Engineer

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Release Engineering expert to join our Software Engineering team. As part of the System Solutions group, you will play a key role in advancing computing infrastructure through cutting-edge Compute Subsystems. This position involves working with a globally distributed team, focusing on the release engineering and version control of production-quality firmware.

Responsibilities

• Oversee release engineering and branch management for production firmware releases.
• Provide thoroughly tested production-quality downstream firmware releases to partners.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to develop detailed release plans.
• Document release notes and effectively communicate updates to both internal and external collaborators.
• Oversee the complete release process, including branch management and all facets of software version control.
• Develop and maintain CI pipelines for downstream firmware release processes.

Required Skills and Experience

• Proven track record in managing and automating releases for high-quality system software.
• Experience in software development and build management, particularly for official release candidates and formal software releases.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Familiarity with quality assurance of platform software for server environments.
• Experience in defect triaging and management for system software releases.
• Knowledge of open-source projects such as the Linux Kernel, TF-A, EDK II, and OpenBMC.
• Experience in managing diverse teams.
• Practical experience with Yocto SDK.
