Our client provides a range of electrical and electronic testing solutions for medical devices. This includes electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing, which is important to ensure that medical devices do not interfere with other electronic devices or systems as well as testing and certification services for Bluetooth and wireless technologies, plus cybersecurity testing to ensure the security of medical devices.

As a Senior Project Engineer, you would be responsible for conducting evaluations of products to determine their compliance with relevant standards and regulations. This would involve reading and interpreting national codes and standards, conducting a construction review of the product, and performing a range of tests to assess the product’s performance and safety. These tests could include rating, leakage current, dielectric, temperature, pressure, stability, mechanical hazard, flammability, abnormal and fault insurance, rain, radiation, sound, and laser.

Responsibilities will include:-

• Train and mentor less senior technical staff.
• Proactively develop and communicate test procedures, new test fixtures and report shells for local office.
• Investigate technical complaints for the local office and support accreditations efforts by performing technical audits locally.
• Demonstrate enough product and/or standards knowledge to be considered an expert in multiple product categories for the local office.

The successful candidate will need to have a bachelor’s degree in engineering, with a preference for a degree in electrical or biomedical engineering. You will also need to have at least 4 years of directly related experience within medical standards, specifically IEC 60601-1 as well as strong mentorship skills and NRTL experience.
