Field-Programmable Gate Arrays Engineer

Location: Delft, Netherlands

We are working with one of Europe’s most exciting quantum computing groups that are looking to add an FPGA Engineer to help build control stacks for industrial-scale quantum computers. In the role you will be working on a stack that has been developed to consist of a distributed architecture of parallel Qubit Readout, Control and future modules, each based on an elaborate FPGA design plus integrated processor system running an embedded OS with software applications. This is a permanent role that is located on-site in Delft.

Responsibilities for the role:

• Understand different design requirements and help to implement them in VHDL
• Work with internal and vendor documentation related to FPGA and third-party ASIC/software
• Be able to create test benches in top-level UVM for the team to utilize
• Propose changes to existing/future architectures to improve the performance of the product

Requirements for this FPA Engineering Role:

• Ideally have 7+ years experience working in FPGA engineering in industry
• Proven working knowledge in either Xilinx Vivado or Intel FPGA Quartus
• Expertise working in VHDL
• Comfortable working in both Verilog and SystemVerilog
• Capable of working in top-level verification in UVM
• Experience working with simulator tools, such as Mentor Graphics QuestaSim
• Knowledge of Processor and bus-system architecture (e.g. AMBA AXI, Avalon, etc)
• Can script in languages such as Python, TCL, or Shell
• Exposure to quantum systems/computing a plus
