Data Engineer – NLP, Machine Learning, Python

We are recruiting for a young and dynamic Data Engineer with 2+ years’ experience to join my client based in London on a permanent basis.

My client is a cool start-up company within the Fintech space and as Data Engineer you will be responsible for building and maintaining the data pipeline, the integration of new data sources into the graph,  data harvesting (building / integrating with scrapers, text mining activities e.g. entity extraction and resolution of missing values) and  NLP / text processing (keyword mining, harvesting of industry-specific attributes, etc.)

Skills required:

• 2+ years of commercial engineering experience (ideally including 1y+ at a startup)
• Solid Python skills
• NLP expertise – particularly text mining, classification and clustering
• Data engineering – building, maintaining, and scaling NLP pipelines
• Data science – data analytics and error analysis
• Master’s degree or more in data science / NLP

Skills desired:  

• Experience of NLP on large datasets of messy, unstructured content
• NLP for question answering and query understanding
• Experience of utilizing machine learning / deep learning for NLP
• DevOps – automation and monitoring of Unix/Linux environments
• Graph databases (we use Neo4j)
• Familiarity with scraping content from public web sources
• Knowledge of ETL pipelines
• Familiarity deploying pipelines in the cloud
