Datacenter Operations Engineer – Server hardware / Servers / HTTP / DNS / RAID / TCP/IP / DHC / Linux

We’re partnered with a leading tech company (the people behind a globally known social media platform) and they require a number of people to join them as they build their new data centre.

As a Datacenter Operations Engineer you will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving server issues, escalating issues and working collaboratively with remote teams, plus you will work within the server rack lifecycle process and focus on helping buildout computing and storage environments (amongst other tasks)

This is a full time, permanent role, working predominantly onsite (with a small amount of flexibility with some home working) in Hamar, around 2 hours from Oslo.

Ideally we are targeting a December ’23 / January ’24 start date, however this is negotiable

International applicants are encouraged and visas and relocation can be arranged.

What we look for is:

• College/Technician Degree or equivalent professional experience/certification in Engineering.
• Knowledge of Linux and server hardware repairs
• Working knowledge of technologies such as HTTP, DNS, RAID, TCP/IP and DHCP.
• At least three years of experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.

Any of the following would be considered a plus:

• Prior experience in large scale datacenters.
• Basic working knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical infrastructure.
• Experience operating heavy-load movement equipment such as pallet jacks, server lifts, etc.
