FPGA Engineer
We are recruiting for an experienced FPGA Engineer who has RTL and FPGA development experience, to join a leading financial company on a permanent basis in the UK
Role:
As a FPGA Engineer your responsibilities will include:
- Engaging with FPGA development colleagues to develop and launch the latest hardware to the trading community.
- Coordinating technology introduction with colleagues.
- Using System Verilog to develop high performance FPGA systems.
- Supporting RTL efforts by contributing to the development using productivity tooling.
- Remaining acquainted with the hardware industry including the latest System in Package and System on Chip.
- Defining high level requirements to develop extraordinary solutions for the trading community.
- Constructing your attributes in regard to the finance industry and FPGA development flows.
Required Skills:
You are best suited for this position if you have:
- A degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline.
- A strong work ethic, the will to constantly learn and progress and the passion for development.
- The ability to ensure FPGA development achievement, while taking ownership of important systems and subsystems.
- Proficient knowledge of technology tradeoffs, as well as a logical approach to problem solving.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in working as a FPGA development engineer in a team setting.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in using RTL (SystemVerilog/Verilog/VHDL).
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience of software development.
- A Measurable appreciation of low-level hardware/software interaction.
Desirable:
You are at an advantage if you have:
- Experience in Linux.
- The ability to use scripting language, preferably python.
- The capacity to use HLS.
- Knowledge of Jenkins CI, Gothb, ctypes, SWIG.
- Proficiency in automated testing.
- Experience in embedded processors.
- The ability to use network (ethernet, TCP/IP, IB), high speed networking, PCIe, serial protocols and transceivers.
- Understanding of financial protocol, as well as algorithmic knowledge.
