Java Backend Engineer (Security / Java / Big Data / Python)

We are recruiting for a Java Backend Engineer to join my client in the Brussels area of Belgium on a long term (12 month) freelance contract .

My client is a globally known technically company and as a Java Backend Engineer you will be responsible for join the Fraud Detection team which creates tools and models for my client’s business units. You should have a strong background in back-end software development with experience in developing solutions using Big Data tools and technologies, familiarity with predictive analytics, and an understanding of machine learning techniques.

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• 4+ years of back-end development experience using Java EE, Spring, RESTful services
• Big Data tools and technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Redis, Cassandra, Splunk
• Other technologies including Python, SQL
• Excellent coding, reviewing and testing skills
• Experience with continuous integration tools

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE

• Experience in fraud detection (in any industry: gaming, banking, insurance…)
• Experience in data analytics and machine learning
• Experience in DevOps

BONUS EXPERIENCE

• Cloud computing: AWS, Google Cloud
• Data analytics: R, KNIME, WEKA, FICO, TensorFlow
• Programming: Scala, Haskell
