Linux Kernel Expert / Automotive Software / Embedded C (m/f/d)

Location: Pisa, Italy

Pisa Research Centre plays a leading role within our client in researching new technologies and applications in the field of automotive software. In this role, you will be a versatile software developer who can support the design, development and implementation of safety-oriented kernel level functionalities and optimizations. You will join a dynamic and highly collaborative team of experts and PhDs passionate about research projects and innovative solutions.

Main responsibilities:

• Design and Develop safe and efficient Linux kernel components

• Design and Develop components based on the POSIX standard, including a POSIXbased OS, Hypervisor.

• Cooperate with safety experts to define safety requirements, safety mechanisms and failure mode analysis

• Design and Development of an Emulation infrastructure for emulating the behavior of complex software on a virtual platform.

Requirements:

• Good knowledge of Linux kernel internal

• PhD – Master Degree in Engineering / Computer Science

• Good knowledge of the C language

• Knowledge of computer architecture (e.g. interrupts, memory management, most common peripheral structure)

• Knowledge of real-time OSs and concurrent programming

• Knowledge of debugging techniques (e.g. gdb) of multithreaded and/or multiprocess code

• Good communication skills, ability to work in multi-cultural environments, strong team working attitude

• Fluent in English and availability to travel outside Italy
