Principal R&D Engineer – Power Electronics / EV / Automotive

We are currently partnered with a world-leading research center in Germany developing cutting-edge next-generation products across digital power. The team is looking to expand its headcount with a principal Power Electronics R&D Engineer to support technology roadmap development.

This is a permanent opportunity based onsite in Nuremberg, Germany.

Key Responsibilities for this Principal R&D Engineer position:

• Identifying and refining needs to formulate system requirements in application domains in digital power business.
• Support technology roadmap development for next-generation products including EV power train, Motor Control, and Battery Chargers.
• Support the exploration and definition of next-generation power module technology.
• Executing the development of novel power conversion architectures and converter typologies.
• Leading parameter design, component layout, and prototype build-up of converter concepts.

Key Requirements:

• A master’s degree or PHD in the field of Power Electronics with strong relevant industry experience.
• Extensive knowledge in power electronic converter principles, magnetic component designs, and power semiconductor devices.
• Previous relevant experience in product development and release.
• Proven hands-on experience in power converter prototype building.
• Proven experience in the analysis, design, simulation, and verification of key designs in power converter technologies.
