Research Engineer – Positioning / GNSS / Geospatial / Navigation

For our leading IT clients’ expanding Research Centre, we are searching for several experienced Researchers who are experts in the field of positioning, GNSS, Navigation etc.

Job type:          Freelance / Contract

Duration:         1 year (possibility to extend)

Location:         Edinburgh, Scotland

Rate:                  £350-400 per day

About the role:

This is a research based position for someone passionate about AI and Indoor positioning. You would join a systems-focused group, ideally looking for an engineering-minded researcher to focus on building software addresses challenges for smartphone users.

The key skills required for the Research Engineer (Positioning / GNSS / Geospatial / Navigation) are:

• Experience in designing and implementing SLAM (Simultaneous Localisation and Mapping) or Machine Learning (Unsupervised / Reinforcement) activity recognition and features extraction.
• Systems research and development on GNSS alternative navigation systems for pedestrians or vehicles.
• Experience in Geospatial data analysis including; feature recognition, clustering, classification etc.
