Senior Data Warehouse Engineer – Cloud Computing & Large-scale Databases

We are currently working with a world leader in data warehousing who champion R&D in many future computing and tech areas. This company are looking for a Senior Data Warehouse Engineers to join their existing team of experts who are working on a interesting large scale project focusing on big data and developing insights into cutting edge tech and products in the data domain.

Within this role you will carry out R&D planning in the technology direction, undertake research of architecture innovation and key tech development and work with top researchers in industry and academia to carry out research on cutting edge issues in the database domain.

Responsibilities and requirements needed:

• PhD in Computer Science, Database Management, Parallel Computing or related discipline or Masters degree + 5 years experience preferred.
• Proficient in various programming languages; C/C++, Java, Python, Rust etc.
• Have a good R&D background and professional knowledge in databases, big data systems, distributed systems, and high-performance computing. Have research background or product development experience in core modules (such as optimizers, executors, and storage systems).
• Have experiences in the development and maintenance of cloud services and DevOps.
• Prior research or industry experience working on low-level development for databases or cloud systems is beneficial.
• Knowledge of Database design, query processing, query optimization & execution is a plus.
