Senior Linux Kernel Engineer – Open-source

We are looking for a Senior Linux Kernel Engineer to join a world leading technology company at their lab, in Munich OR Dresden, dedicated to operating systems, programming models & virtualization technology R&D.

As a Senior Linux Kernel Engineer your responsibilities will include:

· Investigate, scrutinize, & propel the forefront of operating system technologies & system software, with a specific focus on components integrated within the Linux kernel.

· Align our research laboratory’s strategic plan with the performance, scalability, & reliability requirements essential for our product portfolio.

· Develop, enact, & appraise novel or pre-existing technologies, delivering prototypes to support product development teams.

· Engage in collaborative brainstorming during team meetings, presenting design concepts & findings, & furnishing essential guidance to enable the practical implementation of solutions.

· Make significant contributions to the advancement of the Linux kernel & associated projects, reinforcing & elevating our standing within prominent open-source & OS communities.

As a Senior Linux Kernel Engineer / Engineer your skills will include:

· Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a similar disciplines

· 3+ years of experience upstream kernel development & debugging

· Proficient in C programming

· Experience with Go Lang, Python or Rust is a plus

· Great understanding of Linux command line & environment

· Knowledge of CPU architecture X86 / ARM is a plus

· Proficiency in scripting tools; e.g. Shell, AWK, etc.
