Staff level GPU Software Engineer – Linux Kernel / Device Driver / C programming

We are partnered with a globally recognised semiconductor company and they are looking for a Staff level GPU Software Engineer with solid Linux Kernel and ideally Android/Graphics experience to join the team in Manchester on a permanent basis.

The role offers hybrid working and will offer excellent career progression, a solid base salary (dependant on experience) plus bonus and stocks. All whilst working in a dynamic, multicultural and inclusive team.

What we look for in return is:

• Expert in C programming.
• Experience in the Linux kernel and/or a device driver development.
• Deepunderstanding of computer architecture and embedded systems.
• Proficiency in problem solving and debugging skills.
• Experience with version control and bug tracking systems.
• Excellent team working skills, self-motivated and results focused.
• Practical, organised and analytical approach to work.

Any of the following skills would be a plus:

• Experience with leadership roles, driving and coordinating projects.
• Experience with ARM embedded systems.
• Experience with different testing / debugging tools and script languages.
• Familiar with Android system software development and debugging.
• Interest in graphics and compute APIs – Vulkan, OpenGL ES, OpenCL.
• Experience in software development for a commercial organisation.
