Software Engineer

We are currently partnered with an industry leading provider of innovative payment technology solutions for commercial customers within the transport sector globally. They are looking to expand their team in Germany with a Software Engineer to work onsite in Hamburg. 

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Analyze and enhance legacy codebases, implementing improvements or replacements where necessary.
• Develop and deploy microservices using Java 17 and Spring Boot, following best practices and design principles.
• Utilize Docker, REST, Git, and build tools like Maven/Gradle to build robust, scalable applications.
• Troubleshoot issues, optimize performance, and ensure the reliability of services.
• Implement basic web service security measures to protect applications and users.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of software development processes.
• Collaborate with team members, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning.

Qualifications Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Proficiency in Java programming, including advanced Java concepts.
• Strong experience with Spring Boot and microservices architecture.
• Expertise in Docker, REST, Git, and build tools like Maven or Gradle.
• Ability to work with and improve legacy codebases.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Basic understanding of web service security principles.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English within a multinational team.
