Systems Software Engineer

12 months Initially
Location: Nijmegen
Remote/Onsite: First 2 months fully onsite, after that minimum of 3 day/week onsite mandatory

For our system validation team, we are looking for a software engineer to join our challenging Research & Development team. Your role will be to develop, implement and maintain test applications that will be executed on the embedded microcontroller in our IC’s. Testing of the application before passing to the validation team is mandatory.

Job Summary
For the software engineering role, the responsibilities are:

• Develop and maintain embedded test application on the microcontroller in our IC’s
• Further develop and maintain our in house code base to control the test environment in order to validate the developed firmware
• Real-time software development in C/C++
• Translation of requirements together with architects
• Creation and maintenance of (unit) tests
• Cooperate with the validation team to understand the needs of the required embedded firmware applications
• Preparation and contribution to review procedures
• Multi-site working in multicultural teams around the globe

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor of Electronic Engineering or Computer Science
• 5+ years of experience in software development
• Experiences in semiconductor or automotive industry with focus on system level behavior
• Experience with ARM7 core.
• Experience in: real-time embedded software, processor architecture know-how, socket programming, callback handling
• Experience in: protocol stacks and higher layer communication protocols
• Experience with interfaces like I2C, SPI, USB, TCP, PCIe and Ethernet
• Advanced C/C++ programming skills (other programming languages are an advantage)
• Experience in modern software management processes (SCRUM)
• Experience with software debugging tools (like Logical Analyzer, Oscilloscope and Debugger) is desired.
