Optoelectronic High-Speed Design Engineer
You will be joining a world-leading technology company at their R&D site in Munich.

Responsibilities
- Stay up-to-date with cutting-edge technologies in the optoelectronics field, focusing on high-speed interconnection architectures, high-bandwidth optical modulators and receivers, and the latest trends in optical module development.
- Investigate and assess advanced optical and electrical components, including key connectors, low-loss substrate materials, and optical/electrical resources for 448 Gbit/s IMDD and 450 GBaud coherent systems.
- Conduct competitive analysis within the industry, develop technology strategies, and collaborate with both industry and academic resources.
- Collaborate with HQ to address technical challenges and bottlenecks in optical technology, offering solutions and providing guidance on core technology development and implementation.
- Participate in industry standards organizations and academic workshops, leading the planning and execution of technology research roadmaps.
Qualifications
- PhD or Master’s in Electrical Engineering, Communications, or a related field is highly preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in electro-optical system design or application.
- Expertise in optical fiber communication, high-speed optical modules, and optical device hardware architecture, with a deep understanding of new optical modulator technologies.
- Knowledge of high-speed simulation, RF interconnect design, and measurement techniques.
- Familiarity with optical communication networks and key equipment, with a solid grasp of trends in optical module development.
- Strong understanding of the physical layer of optical communication protocols and standards such as MSA, OIF, and IEEE.
- Proficient in written and spoken English; German is a plus.
