We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Cyber Security Consultant to join our Security and Privacy team in Dublin. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of cyber security and privacy protection laws and regulations within Ireland and Europe. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in external communication, stakeholder management, and ensuring compliance with the latest industry standards.

Key Qualifications

  • Regulatory Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of Irish and European cyber security and privacy protection laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Industry Connections: Strong network and communication experience with Ireland’s cyber security industry organizations and European regulators.
  • Communication Proficiency: Exceptional skills in external communication, information gathering, and analysis.
  • Willingness to Travel: Ability to travel for business, up to 20% of workdays.
  • Cloud Security Knowledge (Preferred): Background or experience in Cloud Security is highly desirable.

Core Responsibilities

  • External Insights & Tracking:

    • Continuously monitor and analyze cyber security and privacy protection laws, regulations, industry standards, and best practices across Ireland and Europe.
  • Stakeholder Identification & Relationship Building:

    • Proactively identify key external stakeholders, including experts, think tanks, scholars, and key opinion leaders (KOLs).
    • Build and maintain a robust network within the industry, fostering positive public influence.
    • Collaborate with internal business departments to establish and sustain communication with regulators, customers, and industry organizations in Europe and Ireland.
  • Proactive & Reactive Communication:

    • Develop and implement a communication mechanism with European customers, regulators, and industry bodies.
    • Serve as the primary liaison for external communication with regulators, effectively managing risks during crisis situations.
  • Trust Building & Standards Advocacy:

    • Lead initiatives to build trust and cooperation within the industry.
    • Advocate for the development of fair, non-discriminatory security certification standards.
    • Gain recognition and endorsement for the organization in various security standards.
  • Policy Support & Risk Management:

    • Provide informed guidance and constructive suggestions for the development and adaptation of internal security policies and processes.
    • Offer assessment and support for internal risk control measures.
    • Assist in developing response mechanisms and processes for handling cyber security and privacy protection crises.
