Principal Engineer – 6G Standards Research

Our client is a multi national Technology research and development company, that focus on Video, AI and Wireless Technology research. 

Their 6G research team develop cutting-edge solutions and protocols for future wireless systems, focusing on 3GPP RAN, SA, or CT standardization. They are looking for a Principal Engineer to join, to work at the intersection of research and standards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct 6G standards-driven research aligned with 3GPP and industry needs.
• Contribute to innovation efforts, including IP creation, standard inputs, and publications.
• Represent the organization in global standards bodies like ETSI, ITU, and 3GPP.
• Monitor tech trends to guide research and influence key decisions.
• Lead interdisciplinary projects and foster industry-academic collaborations.
• Present at high-profile events, author publications, and establish thought leadership.
• Ensure technical solutions align with business objectives.
• Address complex 6G challenges using advanced technical knowledge.

Qualifications

• Master’s/PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields.
• 10+ years in engineering with a focus on cross-functional research projects.
• Proven expertise in 3GPP standards and wireless networks.
• Strong publication/patent record and leadership in industry forums.
• Excellent communication skills; fluency in English.
• Familiarity with ETSI, ITU, and European R&I ecosystems is a plus.
• Project management experience and adaptability to shifting priorities.
• Willingness to travel internationally.
