Data Centre Server Hardware Engineer (Contract)

About the Role:
We are hiring for one of our key clients, a global leader in cloud computing services. This is a 12-month contract position with the possibility of renewal. The role involves supporting and maintaining server hardware in a dynamic and fast-paced data centre environment, ensuring seamless operations for their cloud-based services.

Job Highlights:

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and replace faulty server hardware onsite and remotely, including memory, hard drives, NICs, SDI cards, RAID cards, and GPUs.
• Perform server hardware operation and maintenance tasks, including event and change handling, script support, defect analysis, and troubleshooting.
• Address online faults, identify root causes, prevent recurring issues, and ensure 24/7 service continuity.
• Manage operation and maintenance (O&M) platforms and develop automation scripts to streamline tasks.

Requirements:

• Educational background in computer science, IT, or a related field, with 1-2 years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in basic Linux commands.
• Experience with scripting languages such as Shell, Python, or Go (preferred).
• Knowledge of server hardware and relevant skill certifications.
• Ability to install, commission, and troubleshoot common systems and servers independently.
• Familiarity with X86 server architecture and basic principles of network devices (preferred).
• A full-time college degree or higher.
• At least two years of experience in data center operation and maintenance.
• Familiarity with network and data center management (preferred).
• Understanding of ITIL processes (preferred).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to produce detailed reports and workflow documents.
• Fluency in written and spoken Mandarin and English.
• Strong attention to detail, presentability, and excellent communication skills.
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment as a flexible and proactive team player.
• Experience with public cloud environments is a strong advantage.
