Microwave Photonics Engineer
Microwave Photonic Engineer
We are seeking a motivated Microwave Photonic Engineer to join a growing R&D team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in photonics and microwave engineering, with experience in designing, developing, and testing advanced optical and microwave systems for wireless communications.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop systems integrating microwave and photonics for high-performance applications.
- Simulate, model, and tape-out photonic devices.
- Design and integrate prototypes using photonic components (waveguides, modulators, lasers, etc.), ensuring optimal performance through testing.
- Collaborate with teams to integrate photonic components with microwave and RF systems.
- Work on projects involving free-space optics, Radio over Fiber, and optical beamforming.
- Optimize designs for performance, stability, and minimal losses.
- Interact with suppliers for optical and microwave components.
- Prepare technical documentation and participate in design reviews.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree (Ph.D. preferred) in Photonics, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field.
- Strong knowledge of microwave engineering, optical communication, and photonics integration.
- Experience with simulation tools (e.g., Zemax, COMSOL, VPI Photonics).
- Familiarity with high-frequency circuits and RF design principles.
- Hands-on experience with lab instruments for testing Photonics Integrated Circuits (PICs).
Preferred:
- Experience with free-space optical systems and PIC development.
- Strong programming skills (e.g., Python).
- Ability to work in a collaborative environment.
