You will be joining a world-leading technology company at their R&D site in Nuremberg.

We are looking for a Battery System Engineering expert to drive innovation in energy storage solutions. This role focuses on next-generation battery technologies, hybrid energy storage systems, and advanced battery management strategies, with an emphasis on European market applications.

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop cutting-edge battery energy storage solutions, integrating novel cooling methods and advanced power electronics.
  • Provide expertise in battery management systems, including state estimation and monitoring techniques.
  • Analyze market trends and technical requirements for stationary energy storage in residential, commercial, and utility-scale applications.
  • Model and simulate battery systems, considering electrical, thermal, and aging behaviors.
  • Assess hybrid energy storage solutions for high-power and long-duration applications.
  • Optimize battery system performance using simulation-based analyses of real-world operating conditions and fault scenarios.
  • Collaborate with European universities and research institutions to foster innovation and long-term partnerships.
  • Work closely with global R&D and product teams to align technical strategies.

Qualifications

  • PhD in Electrical Engineering, Control Science, Electrochemistry, Physics, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in battery energy storage systems, with a deep understanding of technology challenges and market demands.
  • Proven research background, including publications in battery modeling, energy management, or application studies.
  • Strong leadership experience in managing research or engineering teams.
  • Established connections with top European research institutions.
  • Willingness to travel across Europe and China.
  • Fluent in English and German; additional European or Chinese language skills are a plus.
  • Excellent communication and adaptability in a multicultural environment.
