Chief Expert – Power Electronics for Solar PV Systems

You will be joining a world-leading technology company at their R&D site in Nuremberg.

We are seeking a power electronics specialist to lead the development of next-generation Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). This role involves defining technology roadmaps, developing innovative converter topologies, and collaborating with research institutions to advance power conversion technologies.

Responsibilities

• Define system requirements and drive R&D initiatives for Solar PV and BESS architectures.
• Develop advanced DC/DC and DC/AC power conversion solutions.
• Lead design, validation, and optimization of power converters in R&D environments.
• Collaborate with universities and research partners to develop novel control algorithms.
• Generate intellectual property through innovative technology development.
• Mentor cross-functional R&D teams.

Qualifications

• PhD or Master’s degree in Power Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Extensive experience in high-power electronics and converter system design.
• Expertise in power converter topologies, modulation, and control algorithms.
• Strong knowledge of multi-level converters, magnetic component design, and semiconductor devices, including wide bandgap technologies.
• Experience in Solar PV or BESS product development.
• Proven track record in technology innovation and technical leadership.
• Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and eager to explore new solutions.
• Willingness to travel for research collaboration and industry events.
• Fluent in English; additional language skills are a plus.
