Senior Manager – Camera Hardware
You will be joining a world-leading technology company at their R&D site in Tampere..
We are looking for a seasoned professional to lead a camera hardware R&D team focused on mobile device innovation. This role involves driving the technical development of advanced camera systems and guiding the team to meet strategic goals while collaborating cross-functionally on global initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the daily activities of the hardware camera team to deliver on project goals.
- Spearhead R&D efforts to create camera prototypes and integrate innovative solutions into future mobile products.
- Deliver competitive camera technology through deep industry insights and technical foresight.
- Contribute to long-term planning and roadmap development for next-generation imaging solutions.
- Collaborate with global counterparts to strengthen product competitiveness and market positioning.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree or above in an engineering discipline.
- In-depth knowledge of imaging systems, including optics, sensors, actuators, and hardware interfaces.
- ???????At least 10 years of relevant experience in camera hardware design and team leadership.
- Exposure to vision systems beyond photography (e.g., depth sensing, thermal, spectral imaging).
- Basic understanding of image signal processing.
- Proven experience managing projects in multicultural, cross-border environments.
- Skilled in working with suppliers and defining/negotiating technical project requirements.
- Understanding of cost structures, supply chains, and legal aspects of tech development.
- Background in mobile device industry and strategic awareness of camera technology trends.
Skills
- Fluent in English (written and spoken); other languages like Finnish or Chinese are a plus.
- Proficient in standard office, communication, and presentation tools.
- Strong team leadership and people management capabilities.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with an analytical mindset.
- Comfortable working across diverse cultures and international teams.
- Innovative thinking with a strong grasp of the imaging technology landscape and a drive to push boundaries.
