Principal Engineering Team Lead – Photolithography

Overview
We’re looking for a dynamic and experienced Principal Engineering Team Lead to drive innovation and lead a high-performing Photolithography team within our Fab Engineering and Technical Operations divisions. You’ll play a hands-on role in cleanroom and lab environments, optimizing and developing processes to support both R&D and manufacturing goals for cutting-edge wafer technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development

• Lead and inspire a focused team of engineers and technicians, offering technical guidance and career mentorship.

• Set clear goals, align team deliverables with business needs, and conduct regular performance reviews.

• Maintain and evolve project plans with clear timelines, accountability, and milestones.

• Champion continuous improvement and promote a proactive, safety-first culture.

• Collaborate with supply chain partners to develop and integrate new technologies that support our strategic roadmap.

Technical Excellence

• Drive the development roadmap for photolithography processes and ensure alignment with future technology requirements.

• Lead daily operations of a defined process toolset and direct technician activities to meet R&D and production schedules.

• Innovate and improve process methodologies to boost productivity, reduce waste, and elevate product quality.

• Develop and monitor statistical process control (SPC) charts and implement structured process improvements.

• Contribute to new process module designs and conduct in-depth statistical analyses (FMEA, control plans, Gage R&R).

• Create and maintain detailed documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs).

• Perform additional tasks as required to support process engineering and broader technical goals.

What You’ll Bring

Essential Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of hands-on Fab experience in Process Engineering or Process Development.

• In-depth knowledge of photolithography processing and related metrology tools.

• Proven problem-solving abilities using structured methodologies.

• Ph.D. in a relevant discipline such as Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical or Electronic Engineering.

• Strong understanding of statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis.

Desirable Attributes

• Experience in leading technical teams and managing engineering projects.

• Familiarity with E-Beam Lithography and wet etching processes.

• Working knowledge of InP-based materials and device fabrication.

• Expertise in designing and executing DOE experiments.

• High proficiency in 6? techniques; Green Belt certification a plus.
