Technology Planning Expert – Automotive Industry
You will be joining a world-leading technology company at their lab in Munich.
A forward-looking automotive technology team is seeking a Technology Planning Specialist to support strategic R&D partnerships, track emerging innovations, and drive cooperation with academic institutions, startups, and external associations. This role focuses on shaping the future of automotive technology through strategic analysis and collaborative innovation.
Responsibilities

Establish and expand partnerships with leading tech firms and academic institutions across Europe.

Analyze emerging technology trends to inform long-term product and R&D strategies.

Evaluate feasibility of novel technologies and identify high-potential startups and innovation opportunities.

Facilitate collaboration between internal R&D teams and top-tier universities.

Lead the planning and coordination of joint activities, such as expert sessions, site visits, and project milestones.

Engage with external innovation networks and associations to gain early access to new technologies.

Contribute to the development and alignment of long-term technology roadmaps focused on customer value and competitiveness.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in engineering or a related technical field; PhD preferred
- ??????Solid experience in the technology sector, especially in research partnerships and strategic negotiations.
- Broad industry network, including academic and commercial institutions, VCs, and startups.
- Strong communication, organizational, and project coordination skills.
- Fluent in English; knowledge of German and/or Chinese is a plus.
- Comfortable with international travel (20%+ per year).
- Familiarity with European innovation ecosystems and collaborative R&D projects is an asset.
