DSP Algorithm Researcher – Optical 

The Optical Communication Technology Lab  is working on optical high capacity WDM fiber systems.  We are seeking strong candidates for junior and senior research positions in the area of digital signal processing for optical communications and other optical applications, to be filled as soon as possible. The research position aims at innovation in the design of DSP algorithms for the next generation high capacity optical systems and hardware implementation.

Main Responsibilities:

• Research and innovation in the area of digital signal processing for optical communications and other optical applications;
• Theory exploration, advanced algorithm design, analysis, and simulation;
• Generation of intellectual property and patent filing;
• Collaboration with other team and business units for exploitation of research outputs;
• Create and maintain strong collaborative associations with university-based researchers;

Qualifications:

• Ph.D. degree in signal processing or communications;
• Skill in telecom communication, physical layer algorithm design, machine learning and related background;
• Familiarity with Python and other programming and simulation tools;
• Ability to conduct independent research while also contributing to team-oriented projects;
• Publications in leading journals (JLT, PTL, Opt. Express…) and conferences (OFC, ECOC), and/or patents.
• Fluency in English, oral and written communication skills.
