The Stockholm Engineering Lab is a highly creative, multidisciplinary, and international think tank, dedicated to envisioning strategic product designs and turning them into innovative, working solutions.

The Stockholm Industrial Design Team focuses on designing the next generation of ICT equipment, including telecom units, indoor and outdoor small cells, smart home appliances, intelligent automotive solutions, and more.

Design Philosophy:
Successful designs address human desirability, business viability, and technical feasibility. You will be challenged to identify meaningful insights from user observation, design trends, societal changes, and shifting business models, translating them into compelling design proposals, excellent user experiences, and innovative features with superior perceived quality.

You have an exceptional sensitivity for shape, color, and finishes and can rationalize design semiotics. You are not just a stylist but a true innovator with a user-centered approach and a passion for detail. You understand branding through design and contribute to creating an integrated product portfolio.

You can quickly elaborate ideas through sketching, 3D modeling, prototyping, or 3D printing for team communication, functional verification, and aesthetic presentations. You can adapt the planning and design process to various project briefs, whether focused on research, innovation, or branding. You enjoy communicating the story behind a design, selling your ideas, and guiding your audience to understand the final result and the journey leading to it.

You thrive in guiding a team through project planning, leading team-oriented activities and workshops, providing feedback, and mentoring on an individual level.

Key Responsibilities:

Be part of a creative design team consisting of industrial designers.
Guide product development from initial research and concept stages to successful product realization.
Communicate ideas and concepts effectively to designers, engineers, and management.
Be responsible for the industrial design function in a multidisciplinary project team.
Maintain a continuous understanding of competition, industry trends, and relevant technological advancements.

Requirements:

Proven track record of successful deliveries with well-known and prestigious clients.
Experience in discussing and presenting to senior management.
Preferably a BA/MA in Industrial Design and/or Design Engineering.
Minimum of 6-8 years of experience, with a substantial portion spent in a consultancy/studio environment.
Experience leading projects with multiple designers while also being hands-on in design work.
Strong sense of form, proportions, and CMF (Color, Material, Finish).
Deep understanding of global trends, technology, and fashion.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials.
Hands-on innovator with an appreciation for model-making and testing.
Proficiency in tools such as CREO, Rh
