Legal Counsel Role 
 

Job Summary

This in-house legal role focuses on general commercial, corporate, intellectual property, and compliance matters within a research and manufacturing environment. It is open to both experienced in-house lawyers and private practice professionals with relevant secondment or commercial experience.

The position involves providing legal support across multiple UK locations, advising on research, development, intellectual property, and manufacturing activities. Key responsibilities include reviewing and drafting commercial contracts, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and delivering legal training. The role also involves collaborating with European legal teams to implement best practices and monitor regulatory developments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Advise on a wide range of contracting matters, including procurement, research partnerships, business development, and marketing agreements.
• Draft and review commercial contracts, including NDAs, service agreements, procurement agreements, intellectual property-related contracts, and real estate agreements.
• Support statutory compliance in areas such as anti-bribery, modern slavery, data protection, and export controls.
• Deliver legal training to non-legal staff on compliance and risk management topics.
• Collaborate with European legal teams to address regional legal issues and develop solutions.
• Monitor and advise on upcoming regulatory changes and external business risks.
