Principal Release Engineer

We are seeking a skilled, experienced, and highly motivated Software Team Leader to join our Software Engineering group. As a member of the System Solutions team, you will have the chance to drive the evolution of computing infrastructure through advanced Compute Subsystems. This role involves collaborating with a distributed team across global engineering centers, focusing on release engineering and version control for production-quality firmware.

Responsibilities

• Oversee release engineering and branch management for production firmware releases.
• Deliver thoroughly tested, production-quality downstream firmware releases to partners.
• Develop and execute release plans in collaboration with various stakeholders.
• Prepare release notes and ensure clear communication with both internal and external collaborators.
• Oversee the complete release process, including branch management and all facets of software version control.
• Lead the management and optimisation of CI pipelines for downstream firmware release processes.
• Provide line management, coaching, and mentorship to a team of skilled software engineers.

• Proven experience in overseeing the release of production-grade firmware for server environments.
• Hands-on proficiency with the Yocto SDK.
• Skilled in defect triaging and managing system software release processes.
• Well-versed in quality assurance practices for server platform software.
• Familiar with open-source initiatives such as the Linux Kernel, TF-A, EDK II, and OpenBMC.
