Principal Software Engineer

We are currently partnered with an industry leading provider of innovative payment technology solutions for commercial customers within the transport sector globally. They are looking to expand their team in Germany with a Principal Software Engineer to work onsite in Hamburg. 

Responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance KA 1.x solutions, including KVP/DL/PV systems and SAM clusters.
• Develop new modules based on the upcoming (((etiCORE standard.
• Ensure project compliance with VDV-KA and (((etiCORE standards.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure smooth project deliveries.
• Mentor and educate developers on VDV-KA and (((etiCORE standards.
• Develop robust applications using Enterprise Java technologies and best practices.

Requirements

• Deep understanding of the VDV-KA standard and its applications in electronic ticketing.
• Knowledge of, or ability to learn, the (((etiCORE standard.
• Expertise in Enterprise Java technologies (Java EE).
• Experience with databases like PostgreSQL or Oracle.
• Proven track record in maintaining KA 1.x solutions.
• Experience in public transport ticketing and fare collection.
• Familiarity with Motics (Mobile Ticketing Crypto Service).
• Knowledge of virtualized environments, UML, and frameworks like Apache Karaf, Spring, OSGi.
• Fluent in German and English.
