Senior Architect – JS/WASM Execution Engine

You will be joining an a world-leading technology company at their R&D lab in Dresden OR Munich.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the technical competitiveness of the JS/WASM execution engine, guiding a team in implementing key innovations in technologies and algorithms to enhance performance.
• Explore the architecture of next-generation JS/WASM execution engines and build a robust technology stack for future applications.
• Stay ahead of trends in JS/WASM execution engine development, promote advancements, foster collaborations, and recruit top talent to join us.
• Cultivate strong relationships within academia, open-source communities, and industry organizations to establish a healthy ecosystem.

Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD  in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Extensive knowledge of technology principles and trends in language virtual machines and compilers.
• Proven experience with mainstream programming languages and VMs/compilers, particularly in the design, implementation, and optimization of leading JS/WASM engines (e.g., v8, JavaScriptCore, SpiderMonkey).
• Strong connections with academia, the industry, and open-source communities are a plus.
• Previous experience leading a research lab or development team is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English is required.
